Haverhill families complain about speeders, trucks

Sullivan said he spoke with police Officer Lance Powell, who confirmed signs banning trucks were removed from Whittier Road by the state.“

We’re going to have to deal with the larger ramifications of what the state and MassDOT did,” Sullivan said. “We’re going to have to figure out how to undo what they’ve done.”

Residents seek relief from septic odors

Councilor Thomas Sullivan asked whether the city can ask the state next May for help paying for the consultant’s recommendations in December, to which Ward replied the city would have to wait a year to apply, since the August deadline has passed.

“What if we were able to lobby our legislators for a one-time expense?” asked Sullivan. “I see this as being expensive and 2016 should be a better year for those residents.”

Sullivan Supports Investment in Energy Management at Schools, City Buildings

"While the bond order drew unanimous support from the council, Councilor Thomas Sullivan threw his support behind the improvements wholeheartedly."

“I’m very proud of taking this initiative in our schools. We’ve been very critical in the past of not maintaining and keeping up our buildings,” said Sullivan. “This is thinking outside the box and it’s just the type of efforts we need to continue to do, not just in the schools but all our public buildings.”

Winnekenni Park is teeming with energy, with parents accompanying their children as they embrace the first cool breezes of fall.

Builder gives 36 acres to city

A local developer who received approval to build two houses in the city's Watershed Protection District near Crystal Lake intends to give almost 37 acres to the city.

Councilor Thomas Sullivan praised the plan and thanked Franciosa for donating the land to the city.


"This is just the type of housing we need here in Haverhill, which will generate good property tax revenue," he said.
