Parks and Recreation

Improving our many parks and recreational facilities has been a passion of mine for many years.  Whether they be located in urban neighborhoods or in more suburban or rural areas of our city, our parks and recreational facilities are the backbone of Haverhill, providing a gathering place to relax, exercise, play sports, learn and explore.

As a am member of the Winnekenni Foundation Board of Directors and Vice President of Development, I have worked hard to improve Winnekenni Castle, Park and Plug Pond.  Many positive changes have taken place and many more are planned for the future.  Check out my Winnekenni Park and Plug Pond Improvement Plan on this website.  Over 3/4 of the recommendations contained in the Plan have been successfully implemented to date!

I have also been a staunch advocate and vocal proponent of parks and recreational facilities across the City, including Swazey Field, Portland Street Playground, Riverside Park and Haverhill Stadium.  I am currently working with the Mayor and the Committee overseeing the renovation of Cashman Field off Hilldale Avenue, and I look forward to working with Urban Kindness and the Mt. Washington Neighborhood Association and the Acre Neighborhood Association for further park improvements and beautification projects in their respective neighborhoods.

As an Advisor to Haverhill's Brightside Program and as a member of the Haverhill Garden Club, I understand the importance of improving the overall appearance of our City.  That is why I am actively involved with both groups in their outstanding efforts to accomplish this common goal.  It is definitely working!
